The Camden, New Jersey, community is mourning the tragic loss of Luis J. Bonet, 24, whose life was cut short in a fatal shooting during the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 9, 2026. According to authorities, Camden County Police officers responded at approximately 12:23 a.m. after a ShotSpotter alert detected possible gunfire in the area of the 200 block of Morse Street. Emergency personnel quickly rendered aid and transported him to Cooper University Hospital, where medical teams worked urgently to save his life. Despite their efforts, Bonet succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at approximately 12:36 a.m.
The investigation is being conducted by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office in partnership with the Camden County Police Department.
