A proud graduate of Morehouse College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development, he built a remarkable academic and professional journey centered on creating opportunities for young people. His pursuit of knowledge continued at New York University, where he earned a Master of Arts in Sociology of Education, and later at Clark Atlanta University, where he pursued doctoral studies in the Humanities. These achievements reflected not only his intellectual curiosity but also his belief in the transformative power of education.
Throughout his distinguished career, Charvis worked tirelessly to improve the lives of students and communities. His contributions to organizations such as Teach For America, KIPP New Jersey, Atlanta Public Schools, and Aldar Academies in Abu Dhabi demonstrated his dedication to educational excellence on both local and international levels. Wherever he served, he brought vision, innovation, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every student.
In recent years, Charvis found a meaningful home at the Historic Oakland Foundation, where he served as Director of Education and Youth Programs. Through immersive educational experiences, historical programming, and youth development initiatives, he helped connect countless individuals to Atlanta’s rich cultural heritage.
